Creating Artistically Functional Homes

What We Do

Why are there so many houses that sit on the market for so long? Why is it that when you want to buy a home, you can't imagine yourself actually living in that home? Because many builders don't use that one tool in their toolbox - their imagination! CoeMingle Investments purchases these cookie-cutter homes and turns them into artistically functional homes. Homes that are equally unique and conversational - that inspire all who experience them. Homes you can entertain in, homes you can love in, homes you can live in.

Take a look at some of the samples below to experience our design vision.

Modern Kitchen We needed to start completely fresh on this 1960s kitchen. The new modern flat-front dark wood cabinets are accented in stainless steel and glass with a recycled glass mosaic backsplash for some sparkle and interest. The soffit and drop-down florescent lighting were removed and modern lighting was put in its place. Finally, the flooring was replaced with Indian Tigerwood Pergo throughout enhancing the definitively modern feel. With pullouts about in this space, the functionality aspect (as well as the wow factor) was increased 100-fold.
By incorporating bold shapes, lines, colors and textures, this room was almost instantly transformed into elegant modernism. I then offset the bold statements with an Indian Tigerwood floor to echo the sleekness of the situation. Now can you say, 'hot!"? Living Room
Grand Gourmet Kitchen This kitchen was a total gut to the studs. I relocated the washer/dryer to the garage and opened up the walls on both ends of this galley kitchen to create a grand gourmet kitchen complete with beautiful walnut travertine floors, brand new moss-green KraftMaid cabinetry with anti-slam slides, a granite countertop, 4x4 quartzite backsplash and all-new stainless appliances. Plus, an oversized armoire was reborn into a built-in pantry creating tons of storage and more than an 'out of the box store' kitchen solution. This eclectic kitchen is now functional, cozy and fantastic!
This home was set in a wooded area with tons of trees and greenery surrounding it. It looked like it could've been a cottage plucked right out of the country - so the fireplace design reflected that. The bricks were covered over with 3x6 cut slate tile mixing honed and rough for visual affect and texture, then a custom mantle was created to give weight and importance to the fireplace while still maintaining the charm of the home. The result? A fantastic creation of a new classic. Black Fireplace

With 'yards' in the South Bay so uncommon, why are they usually so unfunctional? We used every inch of this backyard by building a pergola, extending the patio and installing slate tile, a garden shed and a built-in BBQ. It's now a truly unique place to entertain guests.

Why do powder rooms need to be beige and boring? They don't! We infused a bit of Spanish flair and an Earthy feel into this downstairs 1/2 bath with a mosaic slate tile countertop featuring glass tile accents. We then added a pounded copper vessel sink, striking color on the walls and hung a unique mirror to set it all off.

Drop the drop florescent light boxes in the kitchens already! We ripped them out of this kitchen but kept the soffits to create a truly unique and functional lighting system. This cable lighting not only provided overall light but task lighting with the individual spots focused on key work areas. With the addition of a few new can lights, under cabinet lighting and some beautiful pendants over the peninsula - this kitchen lighting works for any mood.
Life is meant to be lived inside and outside. We created this beautiful built-in deck with custom copper sunburst railings, built in seating and accent lighting troughout. The owners now have an additional 375 sqft. of space to entertain with.

Brick fireplaces are common in homes built in the South Bay, but it doesn't mean you have to live with them. By tearing out the old brick fireplace and creating a custom surround with mosaic marble tiles accented with nickel insets and an new exotic wood mantle, this fireplace was turned into a focal point work of art.
Golden Oak kitchen cabinets are standard in South Bay kitchens - but not standard for us. By refinishing the cabinetry, adding a granite countertop (quite an upgrade from white dingy tile) and a stainless backsplash, new appliances and fun lighting, this kitchen was transformed into a chef's delight without fully changing the already functional layout.

Why relegate the exterior of your home to the same three colors that the rest of the neighbors use? We had Huh? Designs select bold colors that would make this home stand out from the crowd while still integrating quite nicely into the surrounding area. The result was drastic, bold and beautiful.

Make a statement in your foyer. After all - it is the first thing guests will see when they enter your home. This fun and whimsical paint technique coupled with the custom Huh?-designed furniture brought life into an otherwise quite boring and forgetful space.

Every day starts in your bedroom, why not start it out right. We transformed this one into a calming retreat by incorporating an Art Deco feel. The fireplace surround was custom built/installed in addition to the new authentic Deco sconces, original from France. The feel of this room is now very
romantic and far from ordinary.
A recent trend for homeowners is to mount their plasma TV over their fireplaces - but where do their components go? By creating a custom component mantle, this problem was easily solved. Not only do all the components fit in the mantle top, but it is also fitted with a cooling fan to be sure that all components stay at an appropriate temperature.

Setting off walls with an accent design creates a custom feel to any room. By creating an obvious space for a bed in this master suite with a woven metal installation, the glamour factor is quickly increased as is the reflectivity from the metal to help set the mood.
Storage is key in compact South Bay homes. Custom shelving/storage units can be created to incorporate additional storage for the homeowner. Plus, these built-ins greatly increase the home's overall value.

Pantrys are a great idea, but without pull-out shelves - your items just get lost inside. We convert all major kitchen cabinets to pull-out shelving units to allow for the most ergonomic kitchen space possible.
